ESCHER'S STAIRS
Escher's Stairs was shot in the building La Muralla Roja, a postmodern building, designed by the architect Ricardo Bofill in 1968. The unique stair set in the middle of this huge complex reminded me just straight away to a MC Escher drawing. To combine astonishing architecture with action sport is just something that I really enjoy and I'm super happy that I found an athlete with Senad Grosic that shares my vision.Location: La Muralla Roja

The artwork is printed on a high-quality 285 g FineArt Pearl Hahnemühle paper and surrounded by a natural white high-quality 1,4 mm cardboard passepartout, which frames the picture 5cm on each side.
The outside dimensions of each frame are therefore the size of the picture (as you choose) with an additional 14 cm in width and length (5 cm passepartout + 2 cm wood frame).

INCEPTION FLIP
Is it an optical illusion or a real shot? The location is truly an amazing architectural structure which inspired me to use it as a surreal scene for this skateboard shot in South England in 2019. The symmetrical arches of this viaduct were designed for a railroad line above, however being used in the right light and camera perspective I was able to create this unique shot with my athlete Vladic Scholz.Location: Viaduct South England

KINGS ROAD
This image is from my series "Riding Thrones", that I shot on some of the real "Game of Thrones" locations with BMX legend Senad Grosic. Set in the mysterious landscape of Northern Ireland, a constant change of weather and a location which is usually flooded with tourists…
When we captured the shot it was very early in the morning and raining, which create particles in the air and made this shot on the famous ‚,kingsroad" (seen in Season 2 - Episode 1 of ,,Games of Thrones’’) a truly special image for me.Location: Northern Ireland

AUTUMN CIRCLE
If you are passionate about beautiful autumn colors, landscape images and just a hint of mystery, this picture might be right up your alley. Set in a historic park landscape in Eastern Germany, the timing was just right to shoot this unique mirrored picture with my athlete Senad Grosic on the bridge. When we got there, the sun was just above the trees and it was lighting up the full color-spectrum of the autumn leaves in a very soft way.Location: Bridge in East Germany

TAKING THE DOG FOR A WALK
In 2010 I was taking a walk in the Swedish town Umeå and came across a car park with an open deck, which inspired me to build a quarterpipe against the chimney and shoot the action from the street view. The guy with his dog walked right into the picture setup while I was waiting for Anton Gunnarson to do the jump. It was an unplanned situation, however I felt the picture became much more interesting in this way.Location: Umeå, Sweden

VERTICAL LINES
Lines and symmetrical structures have always fascinated me a lot in photography, especially when they are not only man-made and when mother earth also puts a little bit of her style in it. I felt straight away that I could shoot something cool here when I saw the structures from above. The vertical lines that structure the image, paired with the crystal-clear water, the slight color-gradient and Anne’s perfect style made this image very special for me.Location: Ötztal, Austria

BAVARIAN PLAYGROUND
For watersports and mountain enthusiasts alike, this image might fascinate you as much as it did me. This jaw-dropping location is not in the Caribbean sea but in South Germany, at a lake close to the Bavarian Alps. During some time of the year, the lake is not entirely filled with water and this unique water pool landscape becomes visible. My athlete Felix Georgii had never seen this location before in such a way and he was excited to shoot a spot close to his hometown nearby. The drone shot reveals the wakeboard action in this surreal landscape and frames it with a beautiful view of the Alps in the background.Location: Allgäu, Germany

MYSTIC FLIP I
I captured this image at the Caumasee, Swizerland in 2015. I was fascinated by the crystal clear water showing the rocks on the bottom of the lake and by that creating a stunning blue colored pattern surrounding my athlete Cedric Romanens. I used a drone to shoot straight down on my skateboarder, however I had to wait for the shadows to be set in the perfect angle to show the skateboarding trick and also to be able to shoot through the clear water.Location: Caumasee, Switzerland

MYSTIC FLIP II
In late autumn of 2015, I shot this image which had been on my mind for quite some time. On the day which we had scheduled for the shooting, the lake was covered with heavy fog, gradually disappearing due to the sun getting stronger. The idea was to shoot a skateboarder doing a flip trick on a swimming platform in the middle of an alpine lake, in this case the Caumasee. We only had a few tries before the fog disappeared, I guess sometimes you just need a minute of the right light and the right timing.Location: Caumasee, Switzerland

GIANTS CAUSE
In short, the trip to Northern Ireland with BMX legend Senad Grosic was amazing. We shot so many memorable pictures there including this one. This was at the unique rock formation near Bushmills. Usually flooded with people, Senad and me headed out there just to scout of the location at first, but then it was surprisingly empty and the sunset was just so amazing, that we took the chance and did the shot already that day. GLACIER VIEW
Sometimes the beauty of Norway gives you a treasure spot. In this case, my crew and me were on a late road trip in June 2010 in Norway and we had a hard time finding spots to snowboard in. However, we found this natural halfpipe that just stood on the last piece of snow on the peak of the pass. It was a pretty perfectly shaped, yet natural halfpipe. Nils Arvidsson busted this amazing handplant in it which made the shot. Later I discovered that I had also captured a group of glacier-tourists in the background as well. I love this fact, because it gives the picture a certain depth when you have it in a big size on your wall.Location: Juvass Pass, Norway

TRACKS
Xaver Hoffmann and me had a pretty fun day in Val Senales. After a long photoshooting day in the snowboard park, we decided to make one more shot on the slope being tracked by a lot of skiers that went down that slope that day. The pattern of the ski tracks inspired me and I had the idea of Xaver being alone on the slope and doing a big stop-turn and the ride though his huge snow cloud. It worked out and left me with a beautiful snowboard memory.Location: Val Senales, Italy

Aluminium Buttlerfinish
Aluminium Buttlerfinished prints are an eye-catching piece of art. Thanks to the brushed aluminium surface the photos get an extraordinary, metallic appearance.
White and very bright areas of the picture are left clean in the printing process, so the shiny alumium shines through in those areas.
Once the image has been printed on the surface there is a wafer thin seal created using a clear resin, which retains the matte effect of the aluminum Dibond backing.

RAISTING
I found this unique spot in the summer and I could really imagine a snowboard picture there. My idea to shoot in heavy snowfall wasn't going to be easy, as it only had snowed once in this spot the season before. Pretty much just a one-time chance to get this shot. I used two big strobes in the background to light up the snowflakes and create a ‘white wall’ where I could capture Xaver’s silhouette. This picture was judged as the overall winning shot of the "Red Bull Image Quest 2013" and "The Open of Photography".Location: Raisting, Germany

MANY WAYS II
I found the spot via Google Earth – It’s a public garden with small hills, where concrete tracks find their way through it in a random way. One part of that garden is like a hilly playground made out of plastic. It was built for a garden-fair close to the Munich fairgrounds.

SUNSET SURF
That day I was shooting a surf session with my friend Henry Jackson. We were done with the session and the misty coastal fog got denser and denser. Henry just turned around one last time to enjoy the awesome view over the bay of Gisborne in New Zealand.

WATERFRONT CONCERT
The first time when I traveled in New Zealand, I was very impressed by the overall vibe, the unique landscape and the friendlyness and charme of the people. One day I was strolling through the streets of Queenstown and I came across this piano player who had a movable piano right at the waterfront. FINISH NIGHTS
Finish nights can be summed up in just two words: Cold and magic - I've never seen any other location, where you constantly feel like you live on the inside of a fridge. But due to the fact, that Finland in the wintertime is mostly covered in darkness there is always artificial light coming from somewhere that creates a very magic light situation. SEVEN MOUNTAINS
This picture shows a moment in time of an incredible view from the Great Wall of China. I traveled there many years in a row and I have never had a similar view and light again. You could see so far and the little bit of moisture in the air created sharp mountain lines between every mountain-chain that was visible. When the sun was setting, I was able to capture this moment. That day, pretty much everybody on the great wall was busy and focused of taking pictures of themselves and taking picture of the great wall itself, however the view from it was breathtaking.Location: China

EGOTRIP
The forest is a magical place for me, especially in autumn. I think this is my favorite time of the year. SCREAMING TREE
This picture is a double exposure of a design from the Berlin Wall and an image of a costal tree, I took in Mallorca, Spain. The idea behind this series of double exposure shots, was to combine the beauty of the nature landscape with the beauty of the urban environment.
